First of all, thank you all for your sweet comments! We are definitely excited and so appreciative of your prayers. It means the world to us to be supported by such amazing people! I'm thanking the Lord that I have had 2 days this week with zero spotting or bleeding! That's a huge improvement so I feel really blessed.
I promise this is not going to turn into a pregnancy blog, but I wanted to write some of my early thoughts on this whole shin-dig for my personal record. I am really wanting to transition to a family blog in light of our new addition, but I'm having trouble finding a theme and design I like. I wish I knew how to do my own blog design, but I just don't get how to do it. While I work on that, here are some early lessons I have learned from pregnancy so far.
- Brushing your teeth and being pregnant do not mix. Y-U-C-K. I dread it every day.
- 7:30 is now an acceptable bedtime.
- Reading before bed is almost non-existent because I immediately fall asleep.
- However, sometimes you are seriously tired and cannot fall asleep at all. (especially after your 3rd trip to the bathroom in one night)
- Telling my class was by far the most fun. They have no concept of gestational time, but they are almost as excited as I am. They have already suggested Dustin and Jessica as name choices. When we discussed how I'm not supposed to walk around a lot or be on my feet too much right now (which was to explain why the aide next door is taking them everywhere), they immediately started telling me to sit down every time I stood up! We finally had to talk about the fact that I have to stand up some time!
- "One day you're in and the next day you're out." Food aversions are happening fast and furiously. We went grocery shopping and I bought stuff I thought sounded ok. I went to pack my lunch bag the next day, and the thought of most of it made me want to gag.
- I'm now evaluating germ levels everywhere I go.
- Google is my best friend and worst enemy when it comes to symptoms.
- When some of your most favorite people in the world announce they are pregnant too, you'll cry like a little baby over the joy of it all.
- I don't know how people can believe there is not a God when you think about a pregnancy. Each and every part is a true miracle. It makes me realize just how special we each are to Him.
Overall, we feel incredibly blessed to have this opportunity and to be in the community of people we are a part of. C'mon end of May!
