Classroom Update

Sorry I've been a little MIA lately. I've been officially back at work for about a week and a half now, and it is CRAZY. There's just so much to do and get done to be organized for the school year. Add to that actually starting to teach curriculum this week, and you have a never-ending to do list. I think I am finally ready for the first week. That is, other than typing up some lessons for my new Mimeo pad! (It's a tablet that turns your board into something Smartboard like.) I'm so excited to have it this year!

Anyways, I know we all normally post updated pictures of our classrooms so I wanted to share mine. However, you'll have to skip on over to my newly created classroom blog for the whole shebang! I'm super-excited about having a class blog this year! Several of you have emailed and asked me questions about how I do things in the classroom, and this is a place I will post a lot of that kind of stuff. Don't get me wrong, I'm no Beth Newingham nor do I want to be. I just wanted a fun, cute way to keep parents up to date. Here's the link...

I'll leave you with one picture I did not put up there though. Here is my attempt at having a more grown-up desk.
Notice the notebook cover I sewed??? It even has pockets for papers and pens inside. I even impressed myself with it. The pin board picture frame is one of my new favorites. It came from Hob Lob. It has these adorable crystal(ish) pins to hold notes and pictures on. Don't you also love my new Harry Potter mug?? My amazing friend, Mandy, got that for me when her family went to Universal Studios this summer. When you put hot liquid in it, footsteps appear around the Marauder's Map! (If you don't know HP, ignore that.) I also have an adorable school-themed Scentsy that a co-worker gave me last year just for being nice to her when she was going through a rough time. Not only does it smell good (and help with post-recess stinkyness) it's a good reminder that sometimes people just need you to listen to them.

So, that's my updated classroom. I hope you guys post yours too! Happy Last Weekend of Freedom!
